AIRPORT
TRANSFER SERVICE
We
can pick you up at the airport and take
you to your homestay. The Airport
Transfer service fee is:
S$60
one-way to homestay or, S$120
two-way S$30 surcharge for pickup between 12 midnight
and 6am.
ACCOMMODATION
SERVICE
If you are applyingfrom overseas, we can help to arrange your accommodation Home-stay or Hostel.
Home-stay accommodation with a
Singaporean family is generally the least expensive way of arranging a
long-term stay in Singapore.
Hostel
accommodation can sometimes be arranged if you book well in advance.

Medical Insurance for Students
The PEI hereby confirms and undertakes tothe Student that it has in place a medical insurance scheme for all its
students as required by CPE under EduTrust certification scheme. This medical
insurance scheme shall minimally provide for an annual coverage limit of not
less than S$20,000 per student, at least B2 ward in government and restructured
hospitals and 24 hours coverage in Singapore and overseas throughout the course
duration, and the Student is encouraged to seek advice on whether more
comprehensive insurance cover is required or desired.

SC/PR and non-Student¡¯s Pass International Students
(Opt out) A
SC/PR or a non-Student¡¯s Pass international student
who is protected by his own medical insurance coverage in Singapore can opt out
from the medical insurance scheme arranged for by the PEI. If the preceding
condition holds and if the Student opts out, he is to tick the box on the right
and sign on the dotted line below the box.
STUDENT
PASS APPLICATION PROCEDURES
1)
Overseas students do not need Student Passes
for 1, 2, 3 or 4-week courses. Students
studying longer than 4 weeks
are required to study full-time (at least
15 hours per week) and apply for Student
Passes.
2)
New Student Pass applications must be submitted
at least 1 or 2 months before the course
start date.
3)
As soon as you send us your documents.
4)
Ivy Education Centre sponsors/processes
Student Passes free of charge. Other
costs could include:
a)
Singapore Immigration may ask you to pay
a visa fee of between S$100 and S$120. This
is for your Student Card
and Disembarkation/Embarkation Card.
b)
There may be a S$102 bank charge for issuing
a banker's guarantee as a refundable Security
Deposit payable
to Singapore Immigration.
5)
All overseas students must send to us by
registered mail photocopies/certified copies
of the following documents:
a)
Birth certificate / family register (photocopy
and certified-true translation);
b)
Highest educational certificate and detailed
transcript of results (certified copies
and certified-true translations);
c)
passport (photocopy);
d)
2 recent passport-sized photographs;
e)
Student Pass application form (fully completed
and signed);
IF
you need a Single-Entry Visa, we also need:
f)
bank statements / fixed deposit accounts
/ savings accounts / company sponsorship letter
(photocopies).
6)
Official translation of the documents is
required if they are not in the English
language. Ask a local government official
/ mayor / Ministry of Foreign Affairs, your
embassy in Singapore, lawyer or certified
translation agency to do
it.
7)
You must bring your original documents to
Singapore for verification.
8)
We will check your documents, process your
forms and certificates before we submit your Student
Pass application
to Singapore Immigration. Your Student
Pass will be approved in about 4~8 weeks.
9)
After your Student Pass is approved, you
must show your original documents to Singapore
Immigration. You must
also pay a refundable Immigration Security
Deposit to the Singapore Government as follows
:
S$5,000
for students from China, India, Bangladesh
and Myanmar;
S$1,000
for students from Thailand, Indonesia and
The Philippines;
S$1,500
for all other students (e.g. from Europe,
America, Oceania, Japan, ROC, Korea, CIS);
No
Security Deposit is required for students
from Malaysia and Brunei.
10) A Student Pass is not required for foreign
students who hold an Employment Pass, a Training Pass or
a Dependent's
Pass.
11)
If one of your parents is a Singapore Citizen
or a Singapore Permanent Resident, you must send us
the following
additional documents:
a)
Parents' marriage certificate / divorce
certificate (photocopy);
b)
Parent's highest educational certificate
(photocopy or certified copy);
c)
Parent's letter of employment (letter should
state date of commencement of employment,
designation, and salary
per month), or, if parent is self-employed,
Business Registration Certificate. These documents should
not be issued more than 1 month ago;
d)
Parent's monthly CPF contributions for the
past 12 months;
e)
Parent's Income Tax Assessment Notices for
the past 3 years (photocopy).
12)
If your spouse (husband or wife) is a Singapore
Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, you must
send us the
following additional documents:
a)
Spouse's marriage certificate / divorce
certificate (photocopy);
b)
Spouse's highest educational certificates
and transcripts (photocopy or certified
copy)
c)
Spouse's letter of employment (letter should
state date of commencement of employment,
designation, and salary
per month), or, if spouse is self-employed, Business Registration
Certificate. These
documents should
not be issued more than 1 month ago;
d)
Spouse's monthly CPF contributions for the
past 12 months;
e)
Spouse's Income Tax Assessment Notices for
the past 3 years (photocopy).
13)
Students are not allowed to work while they
are holding a Student Pass.
